Welcome to the Northern Archers WebsiteNorthern Archers is one of the biggest archery clubs in Sydney, formed in 1953 and has been active in its present location in the Thornleigh / Pennant Hills area of Sydney since 1962. The Range is one of the best in Sydney and situated within the bounds of Pennant Hills Park in a natural bushland setting that provides members with a peaceful retreat to engage in their favourite activity. The clubhouse is large with a recently added covered verandah at the front adding to the ambiance of the site. The club has 17 target butts in front of a protective mound to capture the odd arrow that misses the target. Behind this is the clout pitch. The Range is accessible 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year to members, except for certain scheduled dates across the year. Shooting in the early mornings and late afternoons, it is a great place to be if you can't get there any other time. At Northern, we practice and teach Target, Field and Clout Archery using diverse range of equipment covering Olympic and Hunting Recurves, Compound Bows, and Longbows are used at the club. We currently have members that participate at International, National, and State competitions. So you can see that archery can be intensely competitive, or as passively recreational, as you wish to make it. Locally, the club runs a 12 round league competition in the first and second half of each year. This is a great introduction for new archers to competition shooting in a relaxed format where more experienced archers will help you improve. We also run a number of tournaments at Junior and Senior level in target and clout archery that attract archers from other clubs. For the more competition minded, there are also QRE's (Qualification Ranking Events) that are run. Beginners classes are held on a regular basis with Archery Australia accreditied coaches. All equipment is provided, so all you need to do is call and book in. Please check out the Club information link where you will find information on Beginner classes and contact details. |

Finally, junior archers are especially accommodated within the club via a group called the "Falcons". The Falcons get together on a regular basis so that the kids get to know each other, compete with each other and attend other club tournaments together. |
