NORTHERN ARCHERY BEGINNERS CLASSES

ADULTS AND JUNIORS

INFORMATION - Regular Beginners classes are conducted at Northern Archers, for both adults and juniors. Juniors have to be twelve years of age or over. It has been our experience that generally juniors under the age of twelve have not developed sufficient strength, coordination and concentration skills to be able to successfully complete the course.

CLASSES - Combined adult and junior classes are conducted on a Sunday morning from 10am – 12noon. A minimum of 4 adults and/or juniors are required for each course. The course is conducted over a 4 week period and includes the use of all equipment. After successfully completing the course, each participant can shoot, without supervision, for a further 4 weeks as an Advanced Beginners, using all club equipment at no extra cost. Please note that during this extended period juniors under the age of 15 are required to be supervised by a person aged 18 years and over.

All prospective participants are required to watch an instructional archery video, which addresses basic form and safety issues. This video must be watched prior to participating in any classes. It can be watched, in our club house, at your convenience on a Saturday or Sunday between the hours of 11am – 2pm.

QUALIFICATION At the conclusion of the four weeks course participants will be required to shoot a qualifying round of 90 arrows @ 20M for a minimum score of 450 points out of a possible 900 points.

On achieving the qualifying score a Certificate of Competency will be issued.

COURSE FEES - are $130 for adults and $120 for juniors and are payable in advance. All courses are conducted by NCAS qualified coaches.
